OUR PROGRAMS

Mint Casa Program

For 2 1/2 to 6 years old

The period from birth to age six is a crucial time in a child’s development. Children learn from what they see, hear, taste, smell, feel and sense around them.

Practical Life

Practical Life activities help the child develop independence by doing things for themselves. The child develops confidence by building strong concentration and work skills by completing a task from beginning to end. Examples include caring for the classroom by dusting or sweeping, watering plants, pouring water or juice for snack, polishing silver, cutting and pasting, buckles and zippers, and learning manners.

Sensorial

Each of these exercises involves one of the senses such as sight, hearing, touching, tasting, smelling and stereognostic. Examples include identifying shades of colours, matching sound shakers, matching textures of fabric, tasting the difference between sweet and sour, smelling the difference between flowers and garlic, and identifying geometric solids such as cones, spheres, or cubes.

Language

(Reading / Writing / Communication)
Every classroom activity incorporates language. Our teachers read, sing, and converse with the child. They teach the phonetic sounds of each letter. The child learns to write in a series of steps beginning with forming the letters on chalkboards, then holding the pencil properly to write on paper.

Math

When children begin to imagine, create, reason, calculate and measure, they show signs of a mathematical mind. In our classrooms, the first series of exercises involves numbers from 0 to 10. When the child is ready to move on, they begin teen work, followed by decimal system exercises which include all four operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Culture

This area includes lessons in Geography and History. Examples include the continents of the world, the map of the provinces of Canada, the oceans around North America, the calendar with the days of the week and the months of the year, and telling time.

Curriculum

French

In addition to an everyday bilingual classroom environment, the child receives 30 minutes of French instruction daily through songs, games, and conversational vocabulary. Our playful and consistent approach builds listening skills and joyful familiarity with a second language. This early exposure encourages bilingual development and cultural curiosity.

Early Literacy

In the Casa classroom, early literacy unfolds naturally through a rich environment filled with language, stories, and phonetic exploration. Children work with sandpaper letters, movable alphabets, and phonetic objects to build sound-symbol associations and begin word building. These experiences lay a joyful, lasting foundation for reading and writing.

STEM

STEM learning in Casa emerges through hands-on discovery, from building structures to exploring nature and conducting experiments. Activities in counting, measuring, observing, and classifying ignite curiosity and promote scientific thinking. Children begin to ask questions, test ideas, and engage with the world like young scientists and engineers.

Logic Games

Casa children engage in logic-based materials and games that strengthen reasoning, sequencing, and pattern recognition. Puzzles, categorization activities, and matching exercises help children develop concentration and analytical thinking. These games prepare the mind for more complex problem-solving and abstract thought.

Art & Music

Music and art are woven into daily life as forms of self-expression, creativity, and cultural exploration. The child engages with rhythm instruments, singing, painting, and collage — developing fine motor skills and aesthetic awareness. Each activity invites freedom within structure and nurtures their individual voice.

Athletics & Wellness

Movement is essential to the child’s development of coordination, focus, and self-regulation. Through structured physical activity, yoga, and outdoor exploration, children build strength, grace, and a lifelong appreciation for wellness. Physical activity is integrated with mindful care of the body and the environment.
